DETAILS
Dates: July 21–25 Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM Ages: 13–17 Lights, camera, action! This hands-on camp teaches students the basics of film production—camera operation, lighting, sound, and directing—by guiding them through the process of creating a short film. Working in teams, students will bring original scripts to life while gaining experience in collaboration, creative problem-solving, and on-set etiquette. Students will have the opportunity to have their work edited by the Skydive Media staff and each team will have a finalized film to showcase. This immersive week introduces campers to the essentials of film production, from pre-production planning to post-production editing. Campers will learn the roles on a film crew, break down scripts, scout locations, and create a production schedule. They'll get hands-on experience with equipment, blocking, and rehearsing scenes while refining their skills in lighting, camera angles, and directing. Throughout the week, they'll film and reshoot scenes, review dailies, and discuss improvements. The final day culminates in a group screening and awards ceremony, celebrating the collaborative work of the entire camp.
